Welcome to PetAlly! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PetAlly mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by PetAlly ("we", "us", or "our"). The brand PetAlly is from The House of Vrindavan, a proprietorship firm, Bangalore.

By creating an account, downloading, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Account Registration

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use the Service.
• Account Security: When registering with your email address and password, you must provide accurate, complete, and updated information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate community guidelines, or engage in abusive behavior.

2. Location-Based Features & Privacy

• Location Services: Certain core features—such as discovering nearby veterinary clinics, pet service providers, local shops, and neighborhood communities—require access to your device's location.
• Neighborhood Level vs. Exact Coordinates: In our neighborhood community features, we share only coarse, neighborhood-level geographic data with other pet parents. Your precise GPS coordinates are never made public to peer users.
• Permission Control: You may disable location permissions via your device settings at any time; however, doing so may disable or degrade location-dependent discovery features within the app.

3. Neighborhood Community & Peer-to-Peer Interactions

• Community Standards: PetAlly fosters a safe, supportive space for pet parents. You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful to animals or individuals.
• Peer-to-Peer Assistance: Any peer-to-peer pet care advice, meetups, assistance, or transactions arranged between pet parents via the community feature are undertaken entirely at your own risk. PetAlly does not perform background checks on community members and assumes no liability for peer interactions or disputes.
• Content Moderation: We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any community post, comment, or media that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.

4. Animal Rescue Operations & Alerts

• Submitting Rescue Reports: Users may post alerts regarding animals in distress to notify nearby shelters, rescue organizations, and volunteers. When posting a rescue alert, you agree to provide truthful, accurate, and non-misleading information and images.
• No Emergency Service Guarantee: PetAlly provides a digital platform to facilitate local communication and rescue coordination. PetAlly is not a direct emergency animal rescue dispatch or law enforcement entity. We do not guarantee immediate response times, shelter capacity, or physical intervention by third-party volunteers.
• Safety First: Users responding to rescue alerts or helping stray animals are advised to exercise extreme caution and prioritize human and animal safety. PetAlly is not responsible for injuries or damages arising during rescue activities.

6. User Content & Intellectual Property

• Your Content: You retain ownership of all text, images, and pet records you submit to the Service ("User Content"). By submitting content, you grant PetAlly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, store, and distribute such content solely for operating, promoting, and improving the Service.
• PetAlly IP: The app layout, logos, visual designs, software code, and trademarks are the exclusive property of PetAlly from The House of Vrindavan and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal pet trading, unlicensed breeding commercialization, or promoting animal cruelty.
• Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Impersonate any person, veterinarian, or rescue organization.
• Distribute spam, unauthorized advertising, or malicious software.

8. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

• "As-Is" Basis: The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
• Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetAlly, its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, personal injury, pet injury, or property damage resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Account Inactivity & Data Deletion

• Inactivity Policy: Accounts that remain inactive for twelve (12) consecutive months may be permanently deleted along with all associated pet records and profile data.
• User-Initiated Deletion: You may request complete account deletion at any time in-app or via our web portal. Deletions are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
